Drive-in Prayer Ministry

As the season and weather allows, on the first and third Saturday of the month from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM we invite people driving by in their cars to stop in so we can pray for their needs. There is no need to get out of your car—there will be people to come over to you.

Vacation Bible School

Each June, the children of Salem and the community are invited to a 4-day Vacation Bible School experience! Every evening is packed with crafts, games, snacks, prayer, music, and FUN—all while learning about God’s great love for us through Jesus Christ. Children in preschool-grade 6 are welcome to register as students, and young people in grade 7 and above are welcome to join in the fun as helpers. Of course, adult helpers are needed as well, so there is a spot for your whole family to participate!

Come to the Manger

We invite you to travel around our school track and Come to the Manger! Chat with the townspeople, visit the innkeeper, hear what the shepherds might have been thinking, see how fierce Herod was–all leading up to the birth of the Christ Child.

We’ll have a gift for you to take home, and welcome you to enjoy refreshments and some light entertainment while you wait in the school gymnasium.

Held the first Friday and Saturday in December, this year’s Come to the Manger is on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Tours will be given both days from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Doors open at 5:15pm. Wheelchair and walker accessible, with wheelchairs available to borrow. There is no cost to attend.

Note: this is an outdoor event, so please dress accordingly!

Seasonal Fun

Salem likes to have fun while opening our campus to our Black Jack community. Some of the biggest ways we do that are:

Easter Egg Hunt, held the Saturday before Easter, rain or shine! We gather in the school gym for registration and craft time, then head either to our playground areas OR to different levels in the school building for egg hunting.

Open Gym, on Saturdays in July. We use our (air-conditioned!) school gymnasium to get energy out, spend time building relationships, and having a brief devotion.

Trunk-N-Treat, on the Thursday afternoon before Halloween, right in our parking lot. Wear your costume, and come check out our trick-or-treat stations!
